  3. Paradise Lost Host review ‘Host’ is regarded by many to be the biggest upset by Doomsters Paradise Lost; like ‘Load’ to Metallica fans ‘Host’ is to Paradise Lost fans. It has none of the trademark Doomdeath that made them who they were; instead this is a straight forward Synth-Goth album, and a damn good one at that. Reply

  6. Heavy metal is a hard category when a band wants or needs to change. So it isn't a surprise that Paradise Lost lost many fans when the group's previous albums, Draconian Times and One Second, were released. Host isn't an exception -- vice versa, it goes even deeper into experimental rock. This time Paradise Lost even uses synths and programming, but mixing them with distorted guitar sounds. Reply

  8. Nothing can top albums like "Shades of God" or "Icon", but this is definitely a Paradise Lost and not a Depeche Mode album (not that I heard any of them, but this CD sounds like Paradise Lost in did, and I really doubt that Depeche Mode ever wrote Songs like "In all Honesty"!)/5(37). Reply
